UPGRADING Gardein Chick’n Patties to a POPEYES CHICKEN Sandwich Copy!

Today we are going to be upgrading our store bought faux chicken and giving it A LOT more flavor! We are upgrading a Gardein crispy chick’n patty to taste like the new Popeyes chicken sandwich!!

You'll Need...

  • Popeyes ChickUN recipe
  • 4 Store bought faux chicken patties breading removed
  • 1 cup of water/ veggie broth / fake chicken broth
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • For the breading
  • 1 Cup of nut milk
  • 3-4 drops lemon juice
  • 1 Tbls Franks Red Hot
  • 2 Egg replacement equivalent
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • pinch salt
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbls cayenne pepper
  • 3 tsp pepper
  • Cooking oil

Directions

  1. Scrape the breading off of your chick'n patty
  2. heat 1 cup of water and add your veggie bouillon
  3. add poultry seasoning and liquid smoke
  4. soak patty in warm broth for 10 minutes or until soft
  5. place patties in freezer to firm up again
  6. mix the liquid ingredients together
  7. mix the dry ingredients together
  8. after patties are firm dip in flour mixture
  9. then in wet mixture
  10. then flour
  11. then wet
  12. then flour
  13. then set on rack for at least 10 minutes
  14. heat oil to 340º f
  15. Fry for 5-6 minutes flipping throughout
