Making BACON CARROT VS PARSNIP + Updated Vegan Bacon Seasoning!

Today we are going to do a versus! Carrot Bacon VS Parsnip Bacon! Which makes the better vegan bacon! I also addressed some concerns using MSG and Soy sauce and made a new bacon flavoring! Let me know what you think is the BEST VEGAN BACON!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 carrot or 1 parsnip
  • No soy or Msg
  • 1 Cup Hot Water
  • 1 Tbls Marmite
  • 2 Tbls Light Oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tbls Liquid Smoke
  • 1 Tbls Maple Syrup
  • Pinch of Paprika
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Soy and MSG
  • Soy MSG Bacon Seasoning version
  • 1/3 Cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbls Light Oil*
  • 2 Tbls Nutritional Yeast*
  • 1 Tsp MSG*
  • 1 Tbls Liquid Smoke
  • 1 Tbls Maple Syrup
  • Pinch of Paprika
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Pinch of Garlic Powder

Instructions
 

  • Using a peeler slice bacon sized slices out of your carrot or parsnip
  • lay slices flat on paper towel and heavily salt using kosher salt
  • let salted piece rest for at least 10-15 minutes
  • make bacon seasoning mixing the rest of the ingredients
  • wipe excess salt off carrot or parsnip
  • place slices in seasoning sauce and let rest for 10-15 minutes
  • heat skillet with light flavored oil on medium heat
  • fry carrot or parsnip in skillet flipping regular until browned and crispy
