Making ARBY’s Roast Beef from a RADISH!

Roasted Radish "Beef"

You'll Need...

  • 1 Water melon radish
  • 1 lb coarse salt
  • 1 egg replacer
  • 3 tbls water
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/3 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup light oil
  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp marmite
  • pinch of dried Italian parsley

Directions

  1. Mix egg replacer with 3 tbls water, black pepper, liquid smoke, garlic powder
  2. coat entire outside of radish in egg mixture
  3. fill bottom of glass baking dish with coarse salt
  4. add radish to baking dish and cover entirely in salt
  5. bake 425 for 40 minutes
  6. slice radish in half and alow to cool
  7. slice in very thin slices on mandolin
  8. Make brine with remaining ingredients
  9. heat on low heat until mixed together
  10. put radish into sealable storage container
  11. pour brine over radish
  12. let set overnight in refrigerator
  13. next day remove radish from brine and allow to drip
  14. steam for 30 minutes
  15. enjoy radish "beef"
