Lasagna Roses

Tasty did it and I had to try it! This is a simple Lasagna recipe actually comes out to look like roses! Tasty Lasagna Roses are a more traditional meat lasagna, but I made mine a vegetarian lasagna rose version.

Lasagna that looks like roses!

You'll Need...

  • 1 package lasagna noodles
  • Olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 Cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Fresh Basil to tast
  • 1 tablespoon Itallian season blend
  • 1 24-ounce jar tomato sauce
  • 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 15 ounces ricotta
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella

Directions

  1. Boil Noodles using package directions
  2. Preheat oven to 375º
  3. Sauce
  4. Heat a medium sauce pan to medium
  5. add oil to coat the bottom of the pan
  6. add minced garlic and onions and heat until translucent
  7. stir in 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese
  8. Stir in 1 jar of tomato sauce
  9. Stir in 1 6oz can of tomato paste
  10. allow to simmer on low for 10 minutes
  11. Ricotta mixture
  12. add finally chopped basil and Italian seasoning to Ricotta and mix together
  13. Roses
  14. Cut cooled noodle in Half
  15. Cover noodle in Ricotta mixture and mozzarella
  16. roll noodle lengthwise without squeezing out cheese
  17. Place noodle in non stick muffin pan
  18. repeat
  19. fill bottom of muffin pan with mozzarella cheese around base of rolled noodle
  20. fill the rest of the muffin pan with sauce mixture to the top of the muffin hole
  21. cover with parmesan cheese
  22. cut an additional noodle in half lengthwise and width
  23. wrap thinner noodle around the outside of the original noodle and slightly push into sauce mixture to hold in place
  24. Place in over and bake for 30 minutes or until slightly brown
  25. let cool for 5 minutes
